Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the untimely demises of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their residence property on Sunday.

The Discovery

As detailed in an account referencing a person close to the family, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the house. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

When she went into the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. A companion who had gone with her then dialed 911. Subsequently, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently in custody and is ineligible for bail.

Correcting the Record

The anonymous source also disputed several previously reported details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that juncture.

While the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were untrue.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

Per law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts noted the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
