The One-Punch Man Series Season 3 Is Set to Continue (By 2027) Truly the biggest announcement, the notorious controversial season that was season 3 of One-Punch Man proved insufficient to stop further production. Season 3 will come back with a follow-up batch of episodes in 2027—such a distant date they could have dubbed it season 4. More surprisingly, animation studio J.C. Staff will continue to be in charge. Thankfully this time, director Shinpei Nagai is on board to direct from the beginning, which might be a positive development. But, the key visual for the second cour is a mirror of the one used for season 3, just with protagonists Saitama and Garou looking opposite ways. This leads one to believe that, nowadays, they could be mocking the fans. Ruri Dragon Is Set to Be the Premiere Shonen Jump Anime Produced By Kyoto Animation Kyoto Animation has established a reputation for being an top-tier animation studio, making its mark not just for the high caliber of its work but for the ethical practices of its employees—a sadly unusual standard in the industry. Unexpectedly, until now, it had never worked on an anime adapted from a manga from Shonen Jump, perhaps the most iconic magazine in the business. Ruri Dragon will end that streak, and what a excellent choice it is. The manga by Masaoki Shindo achieved a huge following when it first appeared in 2022 after just a few chapters, but then went into a two-year hiatus due to the author's health issues. When it resumed publication with a lighter schedule, the series demonstrated it maintained the fans' appreciation and goodwill, and now the community is ecstatic about the forthcoming KyoAni adaptation. If you've are unfamiliar with it before, it's because it only just received an English release, but the anime has been going on for some time, and its sixth season was a further outstanding entry. As it happens that was just the first cour, because a "sequel" has been announced as in development, and it will almost certainly premiere in 2026. Debuting in July 2026, this one will definitely be on my must-watch list.
